Vlad Shmunis
CEO, Founder and Chairman of the Board

Vlad Shmunis founded RingCentral in 1999 and launched RingCentral's cloud business phone service in 2003. He developed the service based on the need he saw among businesses for an alternative to inflexible and expensive hardware-based phone systems.


Since founding RingCentral, Shmunis has led the company in reimagining business communications. Today, the company empowers hundreds of thousands of businesses and their employees to work with unparalleled freedom and in imaginative new ways, via a wide variety of mobile and fixed line devices in traditional as well as dispersed work environments.


Shmunis has more than 25 years of industry and management experience. Prior to launching RingCentral, he founded and served as the CEO of Ring Zero Systems, a desktop software communications company. After shipping more than 25 million copies of its Windows software through partnerships with leading PC manufacturers, Ring Zero Systems was acquired by Motorola.


Shmunis was named the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2011 Northern California Award finalist. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees in computer science from San Francisco State University, and is a named inventor in a number of U.S. patents.


David D. Sipes
Chief Operating Officer

As RingCentral’s Chief Operating Officer, David Sipes leads innovation, engineering, global sales, marketing, customer care, international operations, corporate development, and business development. Sipes has an extensive eight-year history in business management at RingCentral, overseeing a variety of key functions, most recently serving as Chief Revenue Officer, and prior to that, Vice President of Corporate Development.


Before joining RingCentral, Sipes was co-founder and COO of Branders.com, the nation’s largest online B2B seller of promotional items. Prior to that, Sipes worked in brand management at PepsiCo and was a principal at Booz Allen Hamilton in their marketing intensive group, providing strategic guidance to marketing and media companies such as Heinz Company, Callaway Golf, and Universal Pictures.


Sipes holds a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in marketing from Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, as well as a bachelor’s degree in business from the University of California, Berkeley.


Mitesh Dhruv
Chief Financial Officer
Mitesh Dhruv, Chief Financial Officer of RingCentral, is closely involved in driving business strategy, corporate finance, partnerships, and growth opportunities. He joined RingCentral in 2012 and is responsible for RingCentral’s global finance functions, including financial planning, controllership, tax, treasury, and investor relations.

Dhruv began his career at PricewaterhouseCoopers and has more than 15 years of experience in accounting and finance. Before joining RingCentral, he worked at Bank of America-Merrill Lynch as an equity analyst, covering software and cloud companies, and worked on several multi-billion-dollar IPOs.

Dhruv is a Chartered Accountant as well as a CFA Charterholder, and has an undergraduate degree in accounting from the University of Mumbai, India.
Kira Makagon
Executive Vice President of Innovation
As RingCentral’s Executive Vice President of Innovation, Kira Makagon leads global product strategy, product management, engineering, operations and IT. Over her extensive tech sector career, she has built multiple breakthrough industry solutions and companies, garnering a reputation as a leader in both software development and business management.

Before joining RingCentral, Makagon founded and served as CEO and President of Red Aril, a pioneer in real-time audience and media optimization solutions that was acquired by Hearst. Prior to that, Makagon co-founded and held key executive positions in flagship online marketing and CRM companies—including Octane Software, which was acquired by E.piphany, and Scopus Technology, where she brought multiple generations of CRM products to market.

Makagon holds a bachelor's degree in computer science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a master's degree in business administration from the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley. She enjoys working with entrepreneurs and serves as an advisor to early-stage companies, including Illuminate Ventures, Yozio, Qubell, News360, 1 World Online and Airframe, where she is also a member of the Board of Directors.

Makagon is a sought after speaker for audiences interested in tech and entrepreneurism. Recently, she has been honored as one of the 2015 Most Influential Women in Business by the San Francisco Business Times and 2015 Women of Influence by the Silicon Valley Business Journal, as well as part of the 2015 Golden Bridge Business and Innovation Awards.
Praful K. Shah
Chief Strategy Officer
Praful Shah, the Chief Strategy Officer for RingCentral, is responsible for defining the company’s business, product and marketing strategy. Shah brings more than 20 years of experience with major technology companies in the software and cloud industries. Before joining RingCentral, Shah worked at WebEx from its founding days until its acquisition by Cisco in 2007. At WebEx, Shah held various executive management positions, including vice president of strategic communications, online products, product marketing and business development. Shah previously served as the senior director of marketing for the Internet Products and Database Products Divisions at Oracle. Prior to joining Oracle, he held senior-level positions at Tandem Computers in product marketing and performance engineering.

Shah holds a bachelor’s degree in electronics and communications engineering from the Manipal Institute of Technology in India and a master’s degree in computer science from Pennsylvania State University.
Riadh Dridi
Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer
As RingCentral’s Senior Vice President and Chief Marketing Officer, Riadh Dridi is responsible for the strategy and execution of the company’s global marketing efforts. Dridi brings over 20 years of marketing, product management, and sales experience with industry-leading enterprise technology providers. Dridi was most recently Vice President and Head of Americas Marketing for VMware, where he was responsible for driving awareness and demand for VMware’s entire product portfolio across all customer segments and routes to market. Before that, he spent 14 years at Hewlett-Packard, where he held several leadership roles in enterprise marketing, partner marketing, product management, and sales.

Dridi serves as a board member for BrightTALK and is an advisory board member of the CMO Council. Dridi holds a master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from École Supérieure de Chimie Physique Électronique de Lyon in France.
Ryan Azus
Executive Vice President of Global Sales and Services
As RingCentral's executive vice president of global sales and service, Ryan Azus is responsible for growing the company’s sales channels and developing new markets. He has over 12 years of executive-level experience in the Internet and software-as-a-service industries. Prior to joining RingCentral, Azus worked at both Cisco and WebEx. As WebEx's vice president of online sales, he successfully drove sales to help the company grow from an early-stage startup to a public company. Azus was a key contributor to WebEx's success from a pre-IPO company in 2000 through its acquisition by Cisco Systems.

Azus holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and marketing from California Polytechnic State University at San Luis Obispo.
John H. Marlow
Chief Administrative Officer, General Counsel and Senior Vice President of Corporate Development
John Marlow serves as RingCentral's chief administrative officer, general counsel and senior vice president of corporate development, where he oversees business and legal affairs. Before joining RingCentral, Marlow was the founding and managing partner of Entrepreneurs Law Group (ELG), a boutique law firm based in San Francisco specializing in corporate, securities, tax and intellectual property matters. Before founding ELG, Marlow was a partner in the San Francisco office of Reed Smith, a full-service international law firm.

Marlow received his law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law at the University of California-Berkeley, and a bachelor’s degree, summa cum laude, from Colgate University.
Vlad Vendrow
Co-Founder and Chief Technology Officer
Vlad Vendrow is the co-founder and chief technology officer of RingCentral, where he is the key architect of the RingCentral cloud phone solution. In this position, he is responsible for enabling RingCentral’s innovation while maintaining overall design to ensure the scalability and availability of the RingCentral solution.

Prior to RingCentral, Vendrow served as the director of engineering at Ring Zero Systems and Motorola. His accomplishments include leading the development of the Ring Zero phone and fax communications software that shipped over 25 million copies worldwide.

Vendrow has been granted more than a dozen patents in the areas of unified communications, fixed-mobile convergence and cloud services. He holds a master’s degree in computer science and applied mathematics from Saint Petersburg Electrotechnical University in Saint Petersburg, Russia.

Rob Theis
General Partner at World Innovation Team
Rob Theis is a general partner at World Innovation Lab. Previously, Theis was a Managing Director with Scale Venture Partners, investing in SaaS, Technology Infrastructure, Cloud Application Companies, Mobile and Digital Media. In addition to serving as a director of RingCentral, while at Scale, Theis invested and was a Board Member of BrightRoll (Acq: Yahoo), HubSpot (NYSE), PeopleMatter, SailThru and sourced DocuSign and Vitrue (Acq: Oracle).

Prior to joining Scale in 2008, Theis was a General Partner with Doll Capital Management (DCM) and invested in leading companies such as Fortinet (NASDAQ: FTNT), Jaspersoft (Acq: Tibco), NeoPath Networks (Acq: Cisco), PGP Corporation (Acq: Symantec), Roamware, VanceInfo (NYSE: VIT), Tapulous (Acq: Disney) and SigFig.

Before joining DCM, Theis served as COO/EVP of New Era of Networks (NASDAQ: NEON), where he grew the company to $200 million in revenues and led NEON through a successful IPO. Prior to NEON, Theis spent 10 years in executive roles at Sun Microsystems, where he drove growth in a series of new strategic initiatives, including Sun’s over $1 billion success in the Financial Services Industry sector. His previous experience includes marketing management at Silicon Graphics’ and in sales at McDonnell Douglas Corp. (Boeing).

Theis holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Pittsburgh and is a Sheriff mountain rescue specialist and rescue diver.
R. Neil Williams
Board Member

Neil Williams was Intuit’s senior vice president and chief financial officer from January 2008 to february 2018. Williams has nearly 30 years of strategic, operational and transactional experience in the financial services industry. He is responsible for all financial aspects of the company, including corporate strategy and business development, investor relations, financial operations and real estate.


Before joining Intuit, Williams was the executive vice president and chief financial officer for Visa U.S.A., Inc. In that role, he led all financial functions for the company and its subsidiaries, including financial planning, business planning and financial monitoring. Williams concurrently served as chief financial officer for Inovant LLC, Visa's global information technology organization, responsible for global transactions processing and technology development.


His previous banking experience includes senior financial positions at commercial banks in the Southern and Midwestern regions of the United States.


Williams, a certified public accountant, received his bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of Southern Mississippi.


Michelle McKenna
Chief Information Officer at the National Football League
Michelle McKenna joined the NFL as SVP and Chief Information Officer in September 2012. Prior to that, she was Chief Information Officer at Constellation Energy, where she implemented major technology strategic initiatives and led the company’s integration with Exelon upon the firm’s merger. From 2007 to 2010, McKenna was SVP and Chief Information Officer at Universal Orlando Resort. She previously spent more than 13 years at the Walt Disney World Company where she held senior leadership positions in Finance, Marketing and Information Technology.
Allan C. Thygesen
President, Americas at Google Inc.
Allan Thygesen is the President, Americas at Google, responsible for the advertising business in North and South American. He is also a lecturer at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Before joining Google, Thygesen consulted to Google and other companies in 2010 and until September 2011 and previously co-founded an early stage venture firm and was a managing director and partner in the U.S. venture and growth funds of The Carlyle Group, where he led investments in startups in sectors including e-commerce, mobile advertising and imaging. Earlier, Thygesen served as an executive in several public and private companies, including Wink Communications, which he helped take public in 1999. Mr. Thygesen has also served on the boards of directors of various private companies.

Thygesen received a master’s degree in economics from the University of Copenhagen and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business as an Arjay Miller scholar. He lives in the Bay Area with his wife and four children.
Kenneth A. Goldman
President of Hillspire
Ken Goldman has served as President of Hillspire, a wealth management firm, since April 2018. He brings extensive financial leadership experience to RingCentral through numerous executive and board of director roles at enterprise technology companies.

He recently served as Chief Financial Officer at Yahoo! overseeing all global finance functions for the company. Prior to Yahoo!, Goldman served in chief financial officer roles for several enterprise technology companies including Fortinet and Siebel Systems. Goldman serves on the board of directors of NXP Semiconductor, Trinet, GoPro, Inc., and non-profit boards such as the Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Foundation Board. Goldman is also a member of the Standing Advisory Group of the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board.

Goldman’s depth and breadth of experience in scaling multiple technology companies will prove invaluable as RingCentral grows and meets global customers’ communications and collaboration needs. His leadership will support RingCentral’s goal of achieving one billion dollars in revenue by 2020.

Goldman received a bachelor’s degree of science in electrical and electronics engineering from Cornell University and an MBA and MBA from Harvard Business School.
