Upcoming Awards Dinner Honors Women Executives Who Are Making a
Difference
SAN MATEO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
RingCentral,
Inc. (NYSE:RNG), a leading provider of cloud business communications
solutions, today announced that Kira Makagon, the company’s Executive
Vice President, Innovation, was among a group of outstanding executive
women selected for the prestigious YWCA Silicon Valley Tribute to Women
Award. As one of 36 women selected for the honor, Makagon will attend
the YWCA awards dinner in May.
At the dinner, three women will be acknowledged as Emerging Leaders by
the YWCA Silicon Valley, an organization that has been honoring women
who display exceptional leadership skills and recognizing companies that
promote women to executive positions since 1986. Over the years, the
YWCA Silicon Valley has honored over 1,200 women executives and 400
companies in a variety of industries, including the high tech, medical,
education, law, real estate, non-profit and banking sectors.
The companies recognized by the YWCA range in size and structure, but
they all share the same principle of valuing executive women and the
unique perspective they bring to their roles. Companies that have
participated nearly every year include Applied Materials, Cisco Systems,
El Camino Hospital, IBM, Lockheed Martin Space Systems, San Jose State
University and Xilinx. This year’s top event sponsors include Cisco
Systems, Presenting; Gilead Sciences, Reception and IBM, Honoree
Luncheon.
Makagon was nominated by her colleague Clyde Hosein, who serves as CFO
at RingCentral. “Kira has an inspirational leadership style,” Hosein
observed. “She has made a positive impact at RingCentral by championing
gender equality in the workplace and in the larger community. She leads
by example as a successful entrepreneur and innovator. We are proud to
call her our colleague and congratulate her on this honor from the YWCA
Silicon Valley.”
